Notice about 2009 Fire Police appointments

Effective 1/1/09, we have to revert back to the requirements of the City Charter  that provides for 5 appointments per company.

Company Captains should send their list to Dick Drew as soon as practical
after 1/1/09 so that the appropriate paperwork can be filled out
for submission to the State.  

The NYS Peace Officer Registry which must be sent in at the 1st of each year
 will be cleared of all previous appointees and only those appointed
in January 2009 will be sent in to the state.

Any appointee that is not currently on the NYS Peace Officer Registry

will have to complete Part 1 of the Peace Office Registry form and

turn it into the Fire Police Captain.

All other firefighters that were previously appointed
but not appointed in January 2009 MUST return their badges
to Dick Drew, a Fire Chief or Captain of the Fire Police.
